Since i moved to NoHo Salsa and Beer has been the best Mexican restaurant in town. They also have a few other restaurants around. Great food and service.
Sizzling Taquitos! Rolled Crispy Corn Tortillas Filled with either Potato, Chicken or Beef, topped with Pico de Gallo. Served on a Bed of Grilled Veggies, Yellow Rice, Pinto Beans, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Lettuce and Lime Wedge. First time at Salsa & Beer. How did it take me 8 YEARS to try this place? My god the food is incredible, starting with the Cheesy Bean Dip that's served alongside their freshly fried Tortilla Chips. Everything was delicious and the portions were massive. Easily 2-3 servings per meal. I loved that it wasn't too greasy and the vegetables were well cooked. The bar was the perfect place to relax after a day at the Ren Faire. It has that cozy tavern feel without the high noise level. While there was a wait at the door when we arrived, we were seated and served very quickly since we sat at the bar instead of a table.
I finally started coming to this particular location to sit at the bar and enjoy my favorites. And even though it still tastes wonderful as takeout, there is nothing better than eating it fresh from the kitchen. There have been a few slip-ups with service, but even with that, I still have to rate them 5 since they are not rude by any means, just forgetful. Last visit I sat there for a good minute while they looked at a video on their phones, until I finally caught the eye of one of them and they came over right away. A few things were forgotten but this was taken care of quickly. The charbroiled chicken tacos were still fantastic, and you cannot beat their rice. Chips are always fresh, and I go for their avocado salsa over their bean dip. As usual, I end up taking half of the food to go since I can never finish this in one sitting. When I started coming here, this particular meal was $9.99, now it's $17.99 so it's been years of inflation. Still, worthy and enough to make two meals out of. I think I've been to pretty much all of the locations at this point, but currently this one wins due to the bar and the big parking lot which is always half full since I come during the week in the late afternoon. Be careful coming out of the lot since there is traffic zooming by and any vehicle parked will block your view (if you drive a car over a truck). I absolutely really, really like this place. (Note there is a surcharge on debit/credit card transactions; I always bring cash.)
My gourmet foodie group recommended Salsa & Beer; different people vouched for the four locations. #4 was most convenient to us, and it delivered an excellent experience. We arrived right at 11am on a Sunday. There was easy parking - a good-sized, park-yourself lot. We were seated and waited on immediately. The waitress was pleasant and efficient throughout our meal. I also noticed that various workers were cleaning. At first I thought it was because they'd just opened, but as the place got busier, people were still sweeping the floors, spot-sanitising benches and ledges around the salsa bar - it was nothing intrusive to the patrons, just a reassurance that cleanliness is important to the owners. The ladies' room was absolutely spotless. The décor of the entire place was fun, reminiscent of an 1800s Wild West ghost town cantina. We ordered margaritas, a classic house on the rocks and a blended strawberry. Both were strong and tasted like they were made with fresh ingredients, no syrupy pre-made mixes. The waitress brought chips and a queso-bean dip, which was very good. The salsa bar offers various fresh options: spicy salsa, a pepper and onion blend, mild, green, pico de gallo. For entrées, we ordered the carne asada plate and the special spicy burrito with shredded beef. Both came with plain Mexican rice (no peas) and refried beans. The carne asada plate had three large pieces of meat, tortillas, a large cheese enchilada, and a little tomato salad. The spicy burrito included a molcajete salsa that tasted flavourful and fresh, teeming with various peppers. The portions were enormous. The amount and quality of the food were worth the prices. Though we literally walked in and sat down and were served in minutes, according to my foodie group, there are long waits on weekends, so I'd recommend arriving early on Saturday or Sunday.
Salsa and Beer on Vanowen is a one-of-a-kind hand built themepark style wood - art craftsman restaurant and bar. Everything in the place is worthy of a picture and a beer. The salsa bar has at least 10 types of offerings to self-serve in little cups. Menu is as expected from a great Mexican restaurant. Service from a great staff was wonderful. The hot bean dip is spicy and addictive with chips and a game on the screen at the bar. I'll be back often, and the margaritas are going to make sure of that.
They have big parking lot and no one charge me On weekends super busy be sure keep it in your mind r you will wait more then 30 minutes The food authentic Mexican food Drink big enough and of course you can more and get it lit fun and family and friends Ask for Daniella she's amazing person friendly and lovely bartender
Salsa & Beer is always sooo good. Food is tasty & big portions you end up taking left overs home. Who doesn't love lots of good food, and next day left overs. ?? And for some of us that food won't wait till the next day cause it's soooo good. Service was good despite being a Saturday we didn't wait long. Very friendly service today. Yessss I do recommend Salsa & Beer
So here for this Salsa & Beer!! Very Mexican Restaurant chic, with a fun rustic style layout, gorgeous pictures and paintings. Wooden beams, pillars and art... And a great salsa bar from finish to start. The wait was 30 minutes, but actually was only about 15 for us. A large party cleared out of the octagonish looking table space which was great for a party of up to eight (we were seven). We started with a round of $13 Margaritas at the bar + complimentary chips and dip. Margs are huge - choice of Strawberry, Mango, Raspberry Pineapple o Classico on the rocks. Mostly Strawberry fans in the mix, but I went with Mango and we had one Classic. Are table was ready before we knew it... We did have the options of enjoying their covered outdoor seating with cozy heat lamps, but maybe that will be for next time. Scan QR code for the menu or a quick search online via their website... It's okay to navigate, but you do have to click on each section rather than simple just scroll all the way through. Vegetarian friendly and vegan kindly with the right mods :) I thought about the Potato Taquitos y Tacos, pero ended up with my go to at any location... Enter the Vegetarian Burrito w/ no dairy (cheese, sour cream or ranchera sauce). The portions are huge on all plates/food... Even a side of rice could feed up to four... Definitely plenty for two. Since I opted out of adding a salad (or soup) to my meal for an additional $3.99 - I had a mega veggie burrito and all my salsa cups to enjoy and it was plenty! Especially with more chips and dip on the table after the bar. Most menu items come with a side or beans, rice and sometimes more... In addition to your man item - this goes for their kid menu tambien! Our server Wendy was spot on the entire time and handle our orders, request, refills and bills with ease. Restrooms are towards the back, gender neutral for employees, mens and womens all toward the back. Parking is just as wild as the other location with a lot that fills up fast! We got a spot along the far wall and friends arriving earlier got two of the last few pull in spots. When we left the waiting area and the parking lot were really blooming with Saturday night/weekend business. Open from 11 AM to 10 PM seven days a week, Salsa y Beer #4 knows how to party and keep all happy.
This was my second visit to Salsa & Beer on a Saturday, but this time we came at night. We were sat immediately at the bar because the tables were packed. Rolando was our waiter and we ordered Taquitos Rancheros with beef, Avocado Chicken Salad, and a Michelada with XX. All was delicious and fresh and the service was exceptional! It's also a great location to catch a Mexican League game.
